Interior Design Magazine Hall of Fame ’Red’ Carpet Contest

In 2022, Interior Design magazine, in collaboration with Swedish flooring manufacturer Bolon, hosted a nationwide contest. The challenge was to design a show-stopping 140' x 12' carpet that would set the tone for the 37th Hall of Fame Gala.

The winning design, titled Dawn, is a tribute to the renewal of a new day as we re-acclimate to the world after the pandemic. The carpet’s gradient pattern symbolizes hope, transitioning from dark to light. A subtle touch of white within the design guides the eye, naturally leading it through the transition. It represents movement away from darkness and toward a brighter, more optimistic future.
